We want to ensure that our international applicants will be successful here at the 每日大赛, which is why we ask for proof of English proficiency as part of the application.<\/p>\n

English Proficiency for Undergraduate Applicants<\/h2>\n

International applicants are required to submit proof of English proficiency from either a test of English language or a college entrance exam. If you submit scores from multiple exams, only the strongest scores will be considered for admission.<\/p>\n

If you are an undergraduate applicant from one of the following countries, you are exempt from submitting an exam to show English proficiency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Applicants from these countries may, however choose to submit an SAT or ACT score. This is optional.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, students who attended at least three years of one of the following secondary school options may also be exempt from providing proof of English proficiency:<\/p>\n

  • An American school overseas<\/li>\n
  • An international school<\/li>\n
  • AP curriculum<\/li>\n
  • IB curriculum<\/li>\n
  • IGCSE\/A-level curriculum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The following exams may be submitted to show your mastery of the English language:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)<\/td>\n80 iBT or higher*
    \n550 pBT or higher*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    International English Language Testing System (IELTS)<\/td>\n6.5 overall band score or higher*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    SAT<\/td>\n460 or higher on the evidence-based reading and writing section<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    ACT<\/td>\n19 or higher on the English section<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    ELS<\/td>\nSatisfactory completion of ELS 112<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Duolingo English Test (DET)<\/td>\n110 or higher*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)<\/td>\n176 or higher*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE)<\/td>\n53 or higher*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    *While applicants need to have the minimum combined score indicated, the 每日大赛 will also evaluate your individual sub-scores\/bandwidth scores. Thus, meeting the minimum overall score does not guarantee admission.<\/p>\n

    English Proficiency for Undergraduate Transfer Applicants<\/h3>\n

    In addition to the tests listed in the undergraduate section above, transfer applicants may show your English proficiency by submitting a college transcript that shows you have completed the equivalent of English 110 (English Composition) with a grade of C or better.<\/p>\n

    Interviews<\/h3>\n

    The 每日大赛 does not require interviews as part of the application process. However, if you plan to participate in an InitialView interview as part of your college search, we encourage you to submit it as part of your application by 1 February.<\/p>\n

    English Proficiency for Graduate Applicants<\/h2>\n

    International applicants are required to submit proof of English Proficiency by submitting a test of English language. If you submit scores from multiple exams, only the strongest scores will be considered for admission.<\/p>\n
