This is a list of the primary peer-reviewed journals that publish articles on Community\u00a0Engaged Scholarship. A description of the foci of each journal is provided along with the link to each journal\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement<\/a><\/td>\nThe IJRSLCE is a peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the publication of high\u00a0quality research focused on service-learning, campus-community engagement, and the\u00a0promotion of active and effective citizenship through education.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education<\/a>
\n(Indiana State University)<\/td>\n		The Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education is an on-line, refereed\u00a0journal concerned with exploring community engagement and community-based\u00a0learning perspective, research, and practice. It publishes accounts of a range of research\u00a0focusing on practical and theoretical insights and understanding, in higher education\u00a0and across the disciplines and professions. There is a focus on case studies emphasizing\u00a0community engagement and engaged learning practices, methodology, and pedagogy.<\/p>\n

The journal aims to establish and maintain a review of the literature of research and\u00a0practice. It also provides a forum for dialogue on the methodological and\u00a0epistemological issues, enabling different approaches to be subjected to critical\u00a0reflection and analysis.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship<\/a><\/td>\nPeer-reviewed journal published twice a year, print and online. Manuscripts accepted\u00a0from all academic disciplines and all methodologies that advance the scholarship of\u00a0engagement. Now in its fifth year, the journal is funded in part by the Engagement\u00a0Scholarship Consortium (formerly National Outreach Scholarship Conference).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
PRISM: A Journal of Regional Engagement<\/a><\/td>\nA new journal devoted to promoting a culture of engagement between the university\u00a0and region through the creation, application, and integration of knowledge. PRISM is\u00a0multi-disciplinary, publishing quality, peer-reviewed research articles, case studies and\u00a0applied research articles, and reflections across the full range of disciplinary\u00a0perspectives.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Public: A Journal of Imagining America<\/a><\/td>\nPublic is a peer-reviewed, multimedia e-journal focused on humanities, arts, and\u00a0design in public life. It aspires to connect what we can imagine with what we can do.\u00a0We are interested in projects, pedagogies, resources, and ideas that reflect rich\u00a0engagements among diverse participants, organizations, disciplines, and sectors.\u00a0Public encourages community-engaged learning, research, and practice across\u00a0boundaries through vivid description and analysis, documentation, evaluation, inquiry,\u00a0and critique. It is part of the national consortium Imagining America: Artists and\u00a0Scholars in Public Life, committed to the relationship between culture and participatory\u00a0democracy.<\/p>\n

In Public, forms including performance, literature, design, sound, historical\u00a0representation, video, photography, interactive media, and texts are integrated with\u00a0other types of knowledge to animate and deepen engagement with civic life. We\u00a0encourage public discussion and resource sharing through online and new media,\u00a0including a multimedia interface to a growing archive of issues and submissions. Public\u00a0connects disciplines such as the arts in economic development, humanities and social\u00a0justice, and design and environmental stewardship, and often highlights more than one\u00a0perspective on its subjects through collaboration with people across traditional divisions\u00a0of knowledge and from multiple contexts (educational, artistic, business, governmental,\u00a0neighborhood-based.)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
