Financial aid is money awarded to students to help pay for a college education and comes in the form of federal, institutional, and state grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study.<\/p>\n
There are two types of assistance a student may be awarded:<\/p>\n
Complete the\u00a0Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a>. La\u00a0Verne\u2019s School Code is\u00a000121600.<\/strong><\/p>\n To receive Financial Aid you must apply each year you are a student.\u00a0 The application for the next academic year opens each fall on October 1st.\u00a0 The priority deadline in California for FAFSA is March 2nd.\u00a0 Don’t delay!<\/p>\n After you submit your FAFSA, you will receive an email from the U.S. Department of Education that contains your Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes the information you submitted.\u00a0 La Verne will then receive your FAFSA information electronically and will process your financial aid package.<\/p>\n Some students are selected by the U.S. Department of Education for additional verification<\/a> of the information on their FAFSA.\u00a0 Don’t worry this is OK! If you’ve been selected for verification, you will be notified on you Student Aid Report (SAR), which is emailed to you after submitting your FAFSA.
