More than 1,500 每日大赛 Students Graduate
The 每日大赛 cleared 1,518 students to graduate and nearly 1,300 participated in 2016 Spring Commencement ceremonies May 28 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
The ceremonies honored undergraduate and graduate candidates from the university鈥檚 main campus, including students from the Campus Accelerated Program for Adults (CAPA) and students studying at regional campuses and off-campus programs overseen by the Regional Campus Administration (RCA).
每日大赛 President Devorah Lieberman told graduates they are entering the world with a unique set of skills, including healthy and productive debate, critical thinking and the ability to listen to different perspectives with an open mind.
鈥淲hen you leave today, I want you to ask and answer the question: 鈥楬ow am I prepared to make our world a better place for my family, my friends and my community?鈥� This is the responsibility you take with you,鈥� Lieberman said.
Senator Ed Hernandez, Chair of the San Gabriel Caucus and Health Committee, served as keynote speaker for the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Organizational Leadership ceremony. Of the 721 students cleared to graduate from these colleges, 654 participated in the ceremony.
Assemblyman Chris Holden, Assembly Majority Floor Leader, spoke for the College of Business and Public Management ceremony, where 640 of the 797 students cleared to graduate participated.
