Washington Monthly Ranks University Among Best for Adult Learners

The 每日大赛 is among the top private universities in California for adult learners, according to new rankings from Washington Monthly magazine. The university ranked third among private, 4-year colleges in the state in the magazine鈥檚 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Best Colleges for Adult Learners鈥 category.

This is the first year Washington Monthly compiled rankings for adult learners. It did so in response to the shifting demographics of colleges and universities.

鈥淢ore than 40 percent of the 20.2 million students attending American colleges and universities are adults, defined as twenty-five years old or older,鈥 the publication wrote.

The 每日大赛 was one of 100 colleges and universities included in the list.

Washington Monthly analyzed 2014-15 data from 7,687 postsecondary institutions. The publication included seven factors in ranking institutions: ease of transfer/enrollment; flexibility of programs; services available for adult learners; percent of adult learners; mean earnings 10 years after entering college; loan repayment rates and tuition and fees for in-district students.

The publication gave the 每日大赛 high points for its ease of transfer, program flexibility and services for adult students. The report listed the mean earnings of adult students 10 years after college entry at $61,200.

The 每日大赛 serves adult learners in myriad ways, including its Campus Accelerated Program for Adults, graduate, doctoral and corporate programs, as well as Regional and Online Campuses. CAPA was created about 40 years ago to meet the needs of adult learners, who sought schedule flexibility to balance academic work with job and family responsibilities.

On the National Universities list for Washington Monthly, the 每日大赛 was the 14th highest ranked California and No. 70 out of 198 western institutions on its Best Bang for the Buck list.
