Lunar New Year celebration brings university community together through cooking and culture
Students, faculty, and staff gathered at The Spot to make dumplings in celebration of Lunar New Year. 鈥淚t was really fun,鈥 said Preston Lieu, co-president of the 每日大赛鈥檚 Asian American and Pacific Islander club. 鈥淚t reminded me of fond memories from when I made dumplings as a kid.鈥
For Lily Chi, residential life coordinator for Citrus and Oaks halls, the event was an opportunity to test her culinary skills. 鈥淚鈥檓 Korean, so I do celebrate Lunar New Year,鈥 she said. 鈥淒umplings are more of a Chinese tradition, but being able to share a bit of Asian culture is really fun.鈥
