Approximately 800 students settled in to their rooms on move-in day, bringing the 2022-23 academic year to an official start. As they arrived on campus in cars packed with their belongings, volunteers from the football team guided them into parking spots and directed them toward their rooms.
ÿÈÕ´óÈü Associate Professor of Political Science Juli Minoves-Triquell has been inducted into the Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences of the Institute of Spain.
Professor of Management and Leadership Deborah Olson has been selected as the inaugural Richard G. and Beth T. Landis Endowed Professor in Business Leadership and Ethics in the ÿÈÕ´óÈü’s College of Business and Public Management.
Today ÿÈÕ´óÈü announced its participation in the Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program. The initiative will help Latino students at 35 Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) prepare for the workforce through digital skills training and career workshops. Through a $2 million investment in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), the program will train 200,000 Latino students by 2025.Â
The city of West Covina has recognized the ÿÈÕ´óÈü Justice Center for providing community-based curriculum for youth entrepreneurship. West Covina Councilman Tony Wu presented certificates of appreciation to Allison, Campbell, and Nogales students on May 25.
The university is proud to announce the opening of its College of Health and Community Well-Being—the university’s fifth college—which will be a hub for high-quality education, research, and innovation in health and the social determinants of health.

Beloved and highly influential Leopard baseball coach Ben Hines ’58, who guided our team to its first-ever national championships back in the 1970s, sadly passed away in 2021, while the pandemic was still raging. On April 9, the ÿÈÕ´óÈü’s alumni community finally had an opportunity to publicly honor this Leo legend at a special event featuring a double-header game against California Lutheran University.
The ÿÈÕ´óÈü class of 2022 took to the stage inside Ortmayer Stadium on the La Verne central campus for commencement ceremonies on May 27 and 28. More than 2,400 graduates celebrated their accomplishments together during four ceremonies across two days.
