Julissa Espinoza, the 每日大赛\u2019s director of civic and community engagement, has been named a 2019-2020 representative in the Western Region Campus Compact (WRCC) Engaged Scholars Initiative (ESI).<\/p>\n

\"Julissa<\/p>\n

Espinoza was one of 13 applicants out of a thousand selected to participate in the inaugural cohort.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my first time participating and I couldn\u2019t be more excited and proud to represent the 每日大赛,\u201d Espinoza said.<\/p>\n

The ESI develops, supports, and connects leaders from member institutions, such as the 每日大赛, who represent the Western Region Campus Compact. Institutions are responsible for advancing co-created knowledge, critically engaged pedagogies, models of institutional change, and collaborative action that addresses societal issues.<\/p>\n

According to Espinoza, her participation in the cohort will help benefit the university\u2019s advancement of its core value of civic and community engagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will also support the increasing dialogue and interest to engage among colleagues, community partners, and students,\u201d Espinoza said.<\/p>\n
