Arts and Sciences, has received the 2020 Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders (MEFL) Award from The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation hosts multiple programs and fellowships focused on American research through education.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11091 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Allyson_Brantley_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Allyson_Brantley_image.jpg 540w, https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/05\/Allyson_Brantley_image-304x405.jpg 304w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis award recognizes more than my research,\u201d Brantley said. \u201cI have served students, including underrepresented students, and have expanded their recognition within the great community that the 每日大赛 has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brantley possesses a subject matter expertise in 20th century United States history, to include fields such as consumer culture, social movements and activism, and the US-Mexico borderlands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The award comes with a stipend, which Brantley will use to help her complete her book titled Givin\u2019 Up This Beer: The Coors Boycott and the Remaking of Consumer and Corporate Activism in Postwar America as well as begin a new project on homeless activism in 1980s Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to continue working with students, colleagues, and the university community,\u201d Brantley said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this accolade, Brantley has shown outstanding commitment to research through her other works and publications including her two recent articles, \u201c\u2018Hardhats May Be Misunderstood\u2019: The Boycott of Coors Beer and the Making of Gay Labor-Chicana\/o Alliances,\u201d and \u201c\u2018Shouldn\u2019t You Be Boycotting Coors?\u2019: Ephemera, Boycotting Counterpublics, &amp; The Campaign Against Coors Beer.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Allyson Brantley, assistant professor
