More than 200 students have participated in this program since 2011.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is VITA?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is an IRS-sponsored community program that helps low -to- moderate-income (generally annual income is no greater $70,000) families and individuals located in La\u00a0Verne and surrounding communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All volunteers are IRS certified and will assist with both e\u2010filing and paper filing at no cost to the taxpayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours (Now through April 8, 2022)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saturdays 9 a.m. to Noon<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to make an appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Appointments are strongly encouraged due to limited capacity and can be made by emailing <\/span><a href=\"mailto:&#86;&#73;&#84;&#65;&#64;&#108;a&#118;e&#114;&#110;e.edu\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">VIT&#65;&#64;&#108;a&#118;e&#114;ne&#46;&#101;&#100;u.<\/span><\/a> <span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span>Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come first serve basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to bring to the first day of your appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of identity (such as a valid driver\u2019s license or other government issued picture ID)<\/li>\n<li>Social Security Cards for you, your spouse and dependents and\/or a Social Security Number verification letter issued by the Social Security Administration<\/li>\n<li>Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter for you, your spouse and dependents<\/li>\n<li>Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return<\/li>\n<li>Wage and earning statement Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, from all employers<\/li>\n<li>Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)<\/li>\n<li>Brokerage statements 1099-B and SSA 1099<\/li>\n<li>A copy of last year\u2019s federal and state returns if available<\/li>\n<li>Bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit<\/li>\n<li>Total amount paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider\u2019s tax identifying number (the provider\u2019s Social Security Number or the provider\u2019s business Employer Identification Number)<\/li>\n<li>Form 1098-T Tuition Expenses<\/li>\n<li><strong>Form 1095A<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u2013 issued by the Marketplace if you purchased health care insurance through the Marketplace in 2021<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exemption Certificate Number (ECN)<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u2013 issued by the <span>issued by the Marketplace<\/span><\/li>\n<li>To file taxes electronically for a married couple filing joint tax return, both spouses must
