March is Women\u2019s History Month, and the 每日大赛 is finding ways to highlight and support our Lea Leopards! From uplifting women\u2019s voices to self-care, here are six ways to recognize La Verne\u2019s impressive community of women and the individuals who support and uplift women’s stories:<\/p>\n

Listen to women\u2019s stories:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Bella Documentary<\/a>: Associate Professor of Digital Film Production Morgan Sandler shot the new documentary \u201cBella\u201d, which premieres March 21 at 9 p.m. on PBS SoCal! This film follows the story of Bella Lewitzky, a prominent figure, artist, and activist in the modern dance scene. This feature-length film will air throughout March in honor of Women\u2019s History Month.<\/li>\n
  2. Black Feminism Panel: On March 6 from 12-1 p.m. in the LaFetra Auditorium, Rev Kimani A. Francios will give a presentation discussing the importance of Black women\u2019s religious activism. Francois\u2019 presentation will focus on the lives of women who lived during the 20th-century Southern Freedom Movement\/Civil Rights Movement, and how they shaped U.S. culture in important ways. This free event is open to the public and is sure to be an enlightening discussion showcasing how women\u2019s voices and vision continue to shape American history.<\/li>\n
  3. What Matters to Me and Why: Krystal Rodriguez-Campos:<\/a> This is the second part of the ongoing series that focuses on hearing the life stories of some prominent members of the university\u2019s community. This month, Director of Justice and Immigration Clinic Krystal Rodriguez-Campos will speak about pivotal moments and experiences that helped shape her. This event will take place on Thursday, March. 14, 1 – 2 p.m. in the Ludwick Sacred Space.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Practice Self Care:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Randall Lewis Center for Well-Being and Research is continuing to offer several of their wellness classes to the community at large, including:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Yoga:<\/a> This class is offered Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and Thursday afternoons from 12-1 p.m. in the Lewis Center. Yoga instructor Neena combines a variety of yoga styles with the intention of helping improve flexibility and encourage relaxation.<\/li>\n
    2. Meditation:<\/a> Students, staff, faculty, and alumni are invited to come together for a mid-day \u201creset\u201d in the Lewis Center! This class occurs every Tuesday from 12-12:30 p.m. and is designed to help ground and participants using breathwork.<\/li>\n
    3. Resistance Training:<\/a> On Wednesdays from 12-12:45 p.m., the Leopard community can join Lewis Center Associate Director Allison Krich for a quick workout in the Lewis Center! This exercise session will cater to people of all fitness levels, and is a great opportunity to build muscle strength and endurance for anyone!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
