The 每日大赛 is thrilled to welcome the community to campus for an exciting lineup of events this fall! Join us in celebrating community, creating lasting memories and making a meaningful impact.<\/p>\n

Preview Day: Your Path to Success<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"First up is Preview Day<\/strong><\/a>on Saturday, October 12. This event invites prospective students and their families to experience firsthand what it\u2019s like to be part of the vibrant La Verne community. This event provides a chance to connect with faculty, meet current students, and explore academic programs in a supportive environment. Attendees can participate in an application workshop, receive on-the-spot admission decisions, and hear firsthand from an alumni panel about how a 每日大赛 education has shaped their journeys. A special keynote by alumnus Jeremy McWells, a dedicated higher education professional and advocate, will offer inspiration as he shares his personal story, from leading student groups to achieving professional success in his field. McWells earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in sociology ’16 and an MBA ’19.\u00a0 During his time at the university, McWells was actively involved in campus life as the president of the Black Student Union, intern in the president’s office and student event organizer. His experience moved him to continue work in higher education, helping students get into college, share resources and quirky social media posts on where everyday life meets education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Preview Day<\/a> will wrap up with our community-wide Homecoming Weekend celebrations<\/a>, featuring a petting zoo, games, live entertainment, and excitement before the Leopards football game. Attendees are invited to join in the festivities, making this day a perfect opportunity to feel the spirit of the University of Verne.<\/p>\n

Homecoming Weekend 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"Group<\/strong>Following Preview Day, we\u2019re excited to celebrate Homecoming Weekend<\/strong><\/a> on October 12-13! Join us for a weekend packed with fun, featuring a kid\u2019s carnival, street fair, BBQ cookout, tailgate, and our highly anticipated Homecoming football game. Families can look forward to tons of giveaways and an array of activities that everyone will enjoy, ensuring a memorable experience for the entire community!<\/p>\n

One Book, One University<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of our commitment to fostering thoughtful dialogue, the College of Arts and Sciences has selected Nobody Needs to Know: A Memoir<\/em> by Pidgeon Pagonis as the 2024-25 One Book, One University selection. This powerful memoir recounts Pagonis\u2019 journey of self-discovery as they navigate life as an intersex individual. Their story explores themes of identity, alienation, and resilience while addressing crucial issues surrounding the human rights of intersex people. A special FLEX and student conversation is scheduled for October 23 at Noon – see student email for details. An open community conversation with Pagonis will be held at 3 p.m. in Morgan Auditorium on the historic La Verne campus.<\/p>\n

Golf Tournament for a Cause<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Finally, mark your calendars for the annual 每日大赛 Golf Tournament<\/a> on Monday, October 28\u00a0 at South Hills Country Club in West Covina. This day of fun and purpose brings the community together to support students and help make their college dreams a reality. Whether contributing to an athletic program, a specific college, or the scholarship fund, all proceeds ensure that 每日大赛 students have the resources they need to reach their full potential.<\/p>\n
