The second annual Women\u2019s Career Conference at the 每日大赛 was a gathering of inspiration, empowerment and networking, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and professionals to celebrate courage and career growth. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Held in celebration of Women\u2019s History Month, <\/span>Growing Forward Together: Having the Courage to Branch Out<\/span><\/i> encouraged attendees to embrace bold steps in their professional journeys and build meaningful connections to help shape their futures.<\/span> The all-day event is organized annually by the Career Center<\/a> in collaboration with campus partners. The morning kicked off with a lively keynote address by transformation coach and founder of the Courage Crew, Jasmin Escalera. With a dynamic presence and a message that resonated deeply, Escalera challenged attendees to rethink independence and embrace the power of community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFor many of us, we\u2019ve been taught never to let anybody see us struggle,\u201d Escalera said. \u201cWe think being strong means figuring it all out on our own. But in that pursuit of independence, we isolate ourselves from the very support system that can help us thrive. Every woman in this room is a woman that you need to grow, to support you, to help you, to guide you.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Her speech urged women to shed the survival mindset and embrace the strength of connection. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cVulnerability, asking for help, and seeking guidance is not a weakness\u2014it\u2019s a bridge. A bridge that connects us to the women who see us, hear us, and remind us of how powerful we truly are,\u201d she said. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To reinforce her message, Escalera led an interactive session where participants wrote down, shared and brainstormed ways to help each other achieve\u00a0intentions for the conference\u2014whether to seek mentorship, engage in networking, or simply practice self-encouragement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The courage to stand out isn\u2019t about standing alone,\u201d Escalera said. \u201cIt\u2019s about standing together.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Following the keynote, attendees dove into a series of practical and engaging workshops. <\/span>Standing Out with Confidence: Interview Tips for Growing Forward<\/span><\/i> provided crucial advice on job interview strategies, while <\/span>Branching into Professional Presence<\/span><\/i> explored workplace professionalism and career attire. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Amanda Miller, Director of Academic and Career Success, shared a message of perseverance and adaptability with attendees.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo one\u2019s career is linear,\u201d Miller said. \u201cSetbacks are often steppingstones toward growth. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and evolve.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She encouraged students to embrace change and build strong relationships, reinforcing the value of mentorship and connection. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSurround yourself with people who support your dreams, challenge your thinking, and help you grow.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The day\u2019s agenda also featured a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the\u00a0new <\/span>Get Spotted<\/span><\/i> photo booth, made possible by\u00a0Enterprise Mobility\u2019s \u00a0The day wrapped up with a <\/span>Networking with Courage<\/span><\/i> mixer, where attendees had the opportunity to put their newfound confidence into action.
