Hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists in San Francisco, the event celebrated excellence in collegiate journalism of students from throughout Arizona, California, Nevada and Hawaii (Region 11).<\/p>\n<p>每日大赛 students won in the following <strong>five<\/strong> categories:<\/p>\n<p><strong>General News Photography (Small) 1-9,999 Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Winner:\u00a0<em>Obama declares part of San Gabriel Mountains a national monument\u00a0\u2013 by Helen Arase, 每日大赛<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports Photography (Small) 1-9,999 Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Winner:\u00a0Leopards lose third straight game\u00a0\u2013 by Helen Arase, 每日大赛<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Feature Writing (Small) 1-9,999 Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Winner:<\/em><em>\u00a0Demystifying disabilities\u00a0\u2013 by Mariela Patron, 每日大赛<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>In-Depth Reporting (Small) 1-9,999 Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Winner:<\/em><em>\u00a0The courage to heal\u00a0\u2013 by Katie Madden, 每日大赛<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Television News and Feature Photography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Winner:\u00a0<\/em><em>Depression: The hidden struggle\u00a0\u2013 by Jetske Wauran, 每日大赛<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All first place winners will move on to the national MOE competition among the 12 SPJ regions. National winners will be notified in late spring and will be recognized at Excellence in Journalism 2015 in Orlando Florida in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, La&nbsp;Verne students were also
