Aligning with this concept, on February 24, the College of Law Art Gallery opened its third exhibit \u201cBreaking Illusions: Artist as Scientist.\u201d The exhibit features works that celebrate Black History month as well as works by six women artists in celebration of Women\u2019s History Month. The artists were selected because their works reflect the impossibility of understanding the future of the arts without devoting attention to science and technology. The exhibit runs through May 10.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the College of Law continues to serve as a center of discourse and intellectual interaction:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the week of February 23-27, we held our first Court Observation Week for first-year students. In lieu of attending classes that week, all first-year students visited San Bernardino County Superior Court and witnessed either a civil or a criminal jury trial from start to finish. At the end of the trials, the students had an opportunity to have a Q&amp;A session with the judges who were overseeing the trials. Some students observed mental health care proceedings at the courthouse located in the Arrowhead Regional Behavioral Health Center in Colton.<\/li>\n<li>On the weekend of February 27 -March 1, the College of Law was host to the ABA Region 7 Representation in Mediation Competition. Twelve teams participated in the competition and more than 40 judges and attorneys officiated.<\/li>\n<li>On March 14, La&nbsp;Verne Law and Women on the Move held a half-day conference on Human Trafficking that featured Michael Ramos, District Attorney for San Bernardino County, as keynote speaker.<\/li>\n<li>On March 20, the Law Review of the College of Law will be host to a symposium, \u201cWater: Law, Crisis, and Culture.\u201d The symposium will include panels on Drought, Legislation, Water Allocation and Private v. Community Ownership. We expect several notable legislators to attend. You may still RSVP at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/law-review-symposium-water-crisis-law-and-culture-tickets-15660267281\">Law Review Symposium<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>On March 24, the East-West Bar Association will hold an MCLE program on \u201cTrial Advocacy Tools for the Family Lawyer\u201d at the College of Law.<\/li>\n<li>On March 26, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m., the College of Law and Second Image National will be co-hosts to an MCLE on Electronic Medical Records. Participants may register for this free MCLE at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/electronic-medical-records-mcle-tickets-15850156244\">Electronic Medical Records<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>On April 8, La&nbsp;Verne Law will be host to the Joseph B. Campbell Inns of Court monthly meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you can see, La&nbsp;Verne Law has a presence in and is making significant contributions to the legal and general community of the Inland
