{"id":7474,"date":"2018-06-08T21:17:08","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T21:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/?p=7474"},"modified":"2022-01-12T12:32:37","modified_gmt":"2022-01-12T20:32:37","slug":"college-law-alumni-perform-concert-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/2018\/06\/08\/college-law-alumni-perform-concert-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"College of Law Alumni to Perform in Concert for Charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The LA Lawyers Philharmonic &amp; Legal Voices, which include alumni from the College of Law, will perform Tchaikovsky\u2019s \u201c1812 Overture\u201d and selections from \u201cWest Side Story,\u201d \u201cOn the Town,\u201d \u201cCandide,\u201d and more in a Leonard Bernstein centennial salute.<\/p>\n<p>The 9<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Concert Extraordinaire will be at 8 p.m. on June 16 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Other pieces, such as \u201cScheherazade\u201d and music from Aaron Copland, will also be performed.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Edward Asner will narrate the Bernstein tribute. Radio personality Bill Handel will serve as the master of ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the proceeds will go to the Los Angeles County Counsel for Justice and the Beverly Hills Bar Association Foundation, which provides pro bono legal services, as well as the LA Lawyers Philharmonic<u><\/u><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The LA Lawyers Philharmonic &amp;
