Her works are a mix of realism and the abstract.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have made it my life\u2019s work to show audiences the preciousness of water,\u201d she said. \u201cI have dedicated the last 17 years to showing the diversity of water and encouraging audiences to really look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7754\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7754\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7754\" src=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/08\/eubankPHOENICIAREFLECTION03big.jpg.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/08\/eubankPHOENICIAREFLECTION03big.jpg.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/laverne.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/08\/eubankPHOENICIAREFLECTION03big.jpg-393x405.jpeg 393w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7754\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Phoenicia Reflection III<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The New York-based Human Impacts Institute organizes the annual Creative Climate Awards, which showcase the works of artists inspired by the Earth and its climate. The awards aim to encourage critical thinking about human actions and their impacts.<\/p>\n<p>The Creative Climate Awards include a series of events that feature paintings, drawings, spoken word, and performance art. The series begins with an opening event on September 17 in New York and concludes October 12, when one of the nominees receives a $2,000 grand prize.<\/p>\n<p>Eubank\u2019s oil on linen painting titled \u201cPhoenicia Reflection III\u201d will be on exhibit along with a series of 24 cards. The cards, about the size of a business card, have the image of one of the artist\u2019s works on one side. The other side suggests a step people can take to make a positive impact on the environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Eubank began painting oceans in 2001. She has traveled over 30,000 miles on sea, painted more than 200 bodies of water, and visited 21 countries. She strives to facilitate public conversation about water issues through her work and experiences. Using mostly oil paints to document these bodies of water, she works to bring awareness to issues like climate change and water conservation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She plans to visit Antarctica in February to paint her last ocean\u2013the Southern Ocean.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Danielle Eubank, a 每日大赛 adjunct faculty member, is one of
