Abuse isn&#8217;t always physical. Emotional, verbal, psychological, sexual and financial abuse are all harmful and should be taken seriously.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What should I do if I think I&#8217;m in an unhealthy or abusive relationship?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>You are not alone. Talk to a confidential Victim Advocate. Can I still report?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Yes. Being under the influence does not make it your fault. The University prioritizes your safety.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>Do I need to report sexual assault to get help?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>No. You can still receive support, advocacy, and medical care without filing a formal report. Confidential resources (<a href=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/student-outreach\/campus-resources\/\">On-Campus Resources<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/student-outreach\/off-campus-resources\/\">Off-Campus Resources<\/a>)\u00a0 are available<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What if I&#8217;m not sure what happened to me counts as sexual assault?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>If something made you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, pressured, or hurt, you deserve to talk to someone about it. You don&#8217;t need to have all the answers to ask for help.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What if I said &#8220;yes&#8221; at first but changed my mind?<\/p>\n<p><strong> A:\u00a0<\/strong>Consent must be on going, If you no longer felt comfortable or safe, it&#8217;s okay to withdraw consent and it should be respected. You still have the right to support and care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"collapsible-content-wrapper\">\n<h1 class=\"collapsible-header\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsible-content-1757368763440\">Stalking<\/h1>\n<div id=\"collapsible-content-1757368763440\" class=\"collapsible-content\">\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What is stalking?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Stalking involves repeated (at least 2 instances) of unwanted attention or contact that causes you to feel intimidated, afraid, harassed or threatened. This can happen in person or online.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: <\/strong>What are examples of stalking behavior?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Repeated calls, texts, DMs, showing up uninvited, tracking your location, or monitoring your social media<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What should I do if I&#8217;m being stalked?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Trust your instincts. You&#8217;re in control of what happens next.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>Can I get help even if the person who harmed me isn&#8217;t a student?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>Yes. Support is available regardless of who the person is. We care about your safety and well-being.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>Will my parents or friends be told if I report?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>No. Reports are kept private, and you decide who to involve. Confidential resources do not share your information without your permission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>What kind of help can I get if I&#8217;ve experienced domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking?<\/p>\n<p><strong>A:\u00a0<\/strong>You may be eligible for academic flexibility, safety planning, no-contact orders, housing changes and other supportive measures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0<\/strong>Is this just about women?
